Brampton families can buy IRCC-compliant super visa insurance online today, from about $1,577 a year for a 55-year-old parent and $4,000 for a 75-year-old with stable conditions covered (lowest of eight insurers compared in October 2026). Super Visa Direct Insurance Services is licensed in Ontario and serves Brampton now.
Who in Brampton is buying super visa insurance?
Brampton has the highest South Asian share of any Canadian city: 52.4 percent of 656,480 residents in the 2021 Census, with about 60 percent foreign-born and Punjabi the mother tongue of 21.7 percent (Statistics Canada Census Profile, via Wikipedia). That matches the national super visa picture, where India supplied 56 percent of applicants from 2011 to 2023 and Pakistan 5 percent.
Most Brampton applicants are parents in their 60s applying from Punjab, Gujarat, Delhi or Lahore. The immigration medical exam is done abroad by an IRCC panel physician in the parent’s country, so Brampton clinics play no part. Processing from India took 70 days in September 2026 but 208 days in March, so choose an insurance start date you can move.
How does buying work from Brampton?
The purchase is fully online and takes about ten minutes: enter the parent’s date of birth, planned entry date and a short set of health questions, compare live prices from the insurers available, pay in full or by instalment with a deposit, and download the certificate. The certificate names the underwriter, which is what IRCC and CBSA check.
| Step | What you do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Enter age, entry date, health answers | Live prices from available insurers |
| 2 | Pick a plan and deductible | Policy summary with underwriter named |
| 3 | Pay annually or 2-month deposit plus fee | Certificate PDF within minutes |
| 4 | Upload certificate to the IRCC application | Proof of insurance accepted (quotes are not) |
| 5 | Send a copy to your parent | Shown to CBSA at entry |
IRCC requires at least $100,000 per applicant, valid one year from the date of entry, from a Canadian insurer or an OSFI-authorised foreign insurer on OSFI’s register. Indian domestic insurers are not on it. Full rules are on our super visa insurance guide.
Which languages does SuperVisaDirect support?
The site and quoter are in English today. Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and Tagalog pages are planned, and our phone line can walk a parent through the health questions with a family member translating. Every insurer we list provides multilingual emergency assistance by phone.

Questions people ask
Do I need to visit an office in Brampton to buy super visa insurance?
No. The whole purchase is online: enter the parent's date of birth, planned entry date and health answers, see one price for the TuGo plan, pay on TuGo's secure checkout, and download the certificate naming the underwriter. Upload that certificate with the IRCC application and give a copy to your parent to show CBSA at the airport. Phone help is available if you prefer.
Which insurers can Brampton families choose from?
The plan sold on SuperVisaDirect is TuGo's Visitors to Canada plan, underwritten by iA Financial Group, a Canadian life insurer, which is what IRCC requires. Our guides compare it against the other Canadian plans, from Secure Travel (iA), Manulife (21st Century, CoverMe), GMS, Destination (Zurich Canadian Branch), Allianz (CUMIS) and Travelance (Old Republic), so you can check it against the market; those plans are not sold here.
Can my parents use insurance from India for the super visa?
No. IRCC accepts only a Canadian insurer or a foreign insurer authorised by OSFI, on OSFI's public register, issuing in the course of its business in Canada. Tata AIG, Bajaj Allianz, ICICI Lombard, Niva Bupa and Star Health are not on that register, and applications with their policies are refused.
What does a hospital stay in Brampton cost without insurance?
Ontario hospitals bill non-residents a daily rate set by each hospital. Published 2026 schedules at other Ontario hospitals run from $3,100 to $4,005 a day for a ward bed and up to $15,642 a day in intensive care, before physician fees. A Peel family was billed $96,311 in 2025 after a visiting mother's hospital stay was initially denied.
