Super Visa Direct Insurance Services, operating as SuperVisaDirect, represents the insurers below. This is the written list of insurers we represent, provided under Ontario Regulation 347/04 (Agents) section 15 and the CLHIA advisor disclosure reference document. It is updated if a contract changes. Last reviewed 17 October 2026.
Which visitor and super visa insurer do we represent?
One: TuGo, for visitor and super visa insurance. TuGo’s Visitors to Canada Emergency Medical plan is underwritten by iA Financial Group, a Canadian life insurer. The underwriter is the company that issues the policy and pays claims. Its name must appear on the certificate the parent uploads to IRCC.
| Brand | Underwriter | Products | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| TuGo | iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.) | Visitors to Canada Emergency Medical (super visa and visitor insurance) | Contracted; sold on SuperVisaDirect |
Contracts with other visitor insurers: none at present; the other insurers named in our guides are shown for comparison only and are not sold through SuperVisaDirect.
Why do we name the underwriter?
IRCC’s document checklist requires the insurance to be from a Canadian insurance company, or a foreign insurer authorized by OSFI and listed on OSFI’s register. A broker, distributor or claims administrator does not count. The certificate must name the underwriter.
There is no “IRCC-approved list” of insurers. The test is whether the underwriter is Canadian, or on OSFI’s register. iA Financial Group meets it.
Which life insurers do we represent?
Super Visa Direct Insurance Services arranges life and critical illness insurance with Canadian life insurers, including Wawanesa Life and Canada Protection Plan, through a managing general agency (MGA). Ask an advisor for the current list for your situation.
| Insurer | Products we arrange | Route |
|---|---|---|
| The Wawanesa Life Insurance Company | Term life, critical illness | Through our MGA |
| Canada Protection Plan | Simplified-issue term life, critical illness | Through our MGA |
| Other Canadian life insurers | Term life, critical illness, simplified-issue | Through our MGA |

Which insurers do we not represent?
We do not represent Secure Travel/RIMI (iA Financial Group, claims by MSH), 21st Century Travel (Manulife), GMS (Group Medical Services), Destination Travel Group (Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, Canadian Branch), Allianz Global Assistance (CUMIS General Insurance Company), Manulife CoverMe (The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company), Travelance (Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada) or MSH’s own retail plans. Our 2026 comparison and insurer guides cover them so you can see the full market, but we do not sell them. We say so wherever they appear.
How did we choose the insurer we represent?
We contract with an insurer whose plan meets the IRCC rule, whose policy wording we have read in full, and whose claims process we are willing to support. The TuGo plan was chosen for four reasons: it meets every IRCC requirement, has no maximum age on the Comprehensive tier, offers a 7-day unstable-condition rider to age 79, and issues the certificate instantly. We do not accept contracts tied to volume targets. Our advisor disclosure explains how we are paid.
Questions people ask
Why does the underwriter matter for a super visa?
IRCC requires the insurance to come from a Canadian insurance company, or a foreign insurer on OSFI's register, and the certificate must name that insurer. TuGo is the administrator and distributor; iA Financial Group is the underwriter that holds the risk and whose name appears on the certificate. We name both so the parent's certificate matches the IRCC rule.
Is this the complete list of super visa insurers in Canada?
No. It is the list of insurers Super Visa Direct Insurance Services is contracted with and can place business with. Other Canadian insurers, such as Secure Travel, GMS, Destination, 21st Century, Manulife CoverMe, Allianz and Travelance, sell super visa plans that we do not represent. Our comparison guides cover them so you can check the market, but we do not sell them.
Are any of these insurers 'IRCC-approved'?
There is no IRCC-approved list of insurers. IRCC's rule is that the insurer must be a Canadian insurance company, or a foreign insurer authorized by OSFI. iA Financial Group, the underwriter of the TuGo plan, is a Canadian life insurer and meets that test. Any site claiming 'IRCC approval' is describing something that does not exist.
Why does SuperVisaDirect represent only one visitor insurer?
Because one plan lets us promise one price, one set of rules and a same-day certificate for every age. We chose the TuGo plan for its IRCC compliance, its lack of a maximum age, its 7-day unstable-condition rider and its instant issue. We publish a dated comparison of the whole market so you can check it against the alternatives. This list is updated if a contract changes, and the review date at the top shows when it was last checked.
